Cairo International Book Fair Visitors Say ‘No’ to Sheikh Al-Qaradawi's Books

Gulfnews.com reported that according to a statement released by the Egyptian Culture Ministry on Saturday, the decision by publishers at Dar El Shorouk to withdraw all books by Muslim cleric ‘Yusuf Al-Qaradawi’ from the ongoing Cairo International Book Fair (now in its 46th year) was prompted by angry fair visitors who had voiced their concern and disapproval over the display of the cleric’s publications.

The ahramonline reported that books of the late radical Islamist author Sayyed Qutb were also withdrawn by El-Shorouk.

The Cairo Post, however, witnessed some books by Qaradawi sold at Sour Al-Azbakia, which usually offers discounted used books.
