Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) is hosting James Ivory at Louvre Abu Dhabi: Talking Art Series IV on 28 January at 6:30pm; the latest talk in the fourth Louvre Abu Dhabi: Talking Art series that began in October last year. 

Third in a series of talks that explore some of the key narratives, ideas and content behind the upcoming museum, James Ivory’s talk titled “Miniature Paintings and Films” provides a closer look at the filmmaker’s outstanding collection of Indian miniature paintings, which are now a part of the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s permanent collection. Following which, James Ivory will discuss the interrelationship between art and film and show a special screening of his picture Hullabaloo over Georgie and Bonnie’s Pictures(1978).

'Fatima Alam Wa Amal' by Emirati Sultan Humaid al Jasmi
Book Launch
'Fatima Alam Wa Amal' by Emirati novelist, and writer Sultan Humaid Al Jasmi is to be launched at a book signing taking place at the Ministry of Culture Youth & Community Development, The Cultural Centre in Abu Dhabi tomorrow at 7pm.

The novel features a story of persistence and courage in a world that does not value such characteristics. The moving tale of the Moroccan Fatima, the lead protagonist focuses on her Islamic values and her resolve to always stay ahead of the rest with grit and courage.

Sultan Humaid Al Jasmi is a popular writer from the UAE. He is an adviser for the United Nations (WFP) and the first Emirati to be included in this program. He is also the Secretary General of UAE International Award for Poets of Peace. With more than 12 years of expertise in writing, Al Jasmi is a leading novelist in UAE and the Middle East.

In 2011, Al Jasmi established DXB Business magazine, under RAKAD, a monthly publication that focuses on the main business issues in the UAE and the Middle East . It aims at providing investors with an alternative view and in-depth analysis of business and trade.
